Blessings to my friend Fernando for narrating his struggle and lending his time and energy to helping others. The DREAM ACTivists and folks at PUENTE are doing some awesome organizing these days. I'm glad to see the NY Times is paying attention.

Phoenix rally in front of ICE to support Erika Andiola's mother and siblings, who were arrested and nearly deported last week; it's believed they were targeted due to Erika's DREAM ACTivism (Jan 11, 2013). The family was reunited after nationwide protests over their planned deportation.

I have mized feeling about the DREAM act, myself - I don't like things that promote military service, for starters - but these young people rock!

SB1070 Resistance: No more business as usual.

Just scavenged this off of the Resistance to SB 1070: No Borders... blog - It's really inspiring. These people were pretty serious about their protest. Watch this whole thing. Then send it to a friend or two who might be joining us on the 28th. We have to undo SB 1070, which means we also have to undo everything that supports it: the vicious racism, the fear, the greed, the charades of "democracy", and the fascism, which isn't even veiled anymore...

Costa Mesa action against the "Rule of Law"

June 15, 2010 — The City of Costa Mesa passed a resolution labeling itself a "Rule of Law City" against the undocumented immigrants! Costa Mesa has declared war on our community! The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has provided the city an ICE agent in their local jail to deport anyone without the "proper documentation". How can we help the police if we don't trust them? Our families will be torn apart and we cannot let that happen! The city has no jurisdiction on laws related to immigration, but yet the City Council has made of its city a smaller version of Arizona with the same harmful consequences on the people of Costa Mesa! *** This protest was organized by the people of Costa Mesa
